Life lately

As it's been such a spectacular (but very busy) couple of weeks, I thought today that I'd give you a little update so that you're all aware of what has been happening in my life over the last fortnight.

Work has been chaotic, to say the least. At times it's so stressful and other times it's incredibly chilled. I think that's what comes of working in any office environment that involves a lot of communication (and communication is kind of the point of the job). It's been fun, nonetheless. I've had a pretty decent couple of weeks, regardless of the occasional stressful moment. It's been nice to get to know my colleagues better and it's been nice to feel so accepted and welcomed. I've been there for just over two months now, and I'm so glad that I get on well with the people I work with.

Aside from work - which dominates much of my time - I've been busy with lots of other interesting and exciting things. I'll start at the beginning.

On the 11th September, Daisy, Chelsea and I headed to Hannah's house for the evening. It was a little on the emotional side, to say the least. Hannah moved away for university on the Saturday, so it was kind of a final farewell for a little while. Her absence is pretty sad to be honest, she's definitely missed.

Last Friday night, I headed out with Andrew for drinks and a bite to eat at a local Wetherspoons. The evening was actually pretty fabulous. Having been exceptionally busy, I've not really had the opportunity to see him much, so it was nice to have a proper catch up. All-in-all, it was a brilliant evening.

On Saturday, I headed to Canterbury with Chelsea to do a bit of shopping. She registered at university before we went on our spree, and we grabbed some lunch together. I was pretty pleased with my purchases, particularly a beautiful jacket I bought from Primark. I'll definitely share some photos of it with you all soon!

When we had finished our shopping, we headed down to the university accommodation to see Daisy and Sam, who were in the process of moving in. It was really good to see them both, and both of them seemed pretty happy with their accommodation.

In the evening, I headed to the wedding of a colleague from work. She looked absolutely beautiful, and the evening was really lovely. My workmates were there too, and I had a really nice evening socialising with them. It's odd how people are different when they're out of the office, and I'm glad I got to see that side of them all. They're a lovely bunch.

On Sunday, I did two very exciting things: I signed up to a local gym and I ordered my first MacBook.

Myself and Chelsea have decided to go to the gym every Tuesday and Thursday (starting next week) in order to improve fitness, increase stamina and hopefully just feel better in ourselves. We went for the first time today and I'm glad that I don't have to go on my own. I also think that Chelsea will be quite a good motivation for me.

I've wanted a MacBook for a really long time, but waited until now to get it as I'm in a much stronger financial position than I've ever been before. It's a very exciting purchase for me, and I'm hoping that it will help me to be more productive, particularly with this blog. It's kind of the main reason I'm writing this - I was desperate to tap away on my brand new keyboard!

Peter's show has now finished as well, meaning that he's back at home with his parents for a couple of days, before the two of us head up to London to spend some time together. It'll be nice to chill out with him lots over the next couple of weeks and I hope that it'll bring lots of blogging inspiration to me.
